Soup Dragons Den

Soup Dragon's Den

As part of our support to local community projects, we have introduced a new way to access funding from our Community Investment Fund.

This is called the Soup Dragon’s Den.

The Soup Dragon’s Den is aimed at small local community groups who need a small amount of funding to help them get going, or to grow the project to reach more people.

To apply, applicants simply need to complete the below application form.

Apply now

All applications received will be reviewed and six will be shortlisted to present their pitch at the Soup Dragon’s Den event.

How does it work?

The Soup Dragon’s Den event will have an open invitation for local residents and supporters of each project to attend.

The evening will start with soup being served, allowing time for attendees to socialise and get to know each other. This will be followed by the applicants presenting their pitch; similar to the TV show Dragon’s Den (but much friendlier).

Once all the pitches have taken place, everyone attending the event will be asked to vote, ranking each of the six pitches in their order of preference.

The votes will be counted and the winner announced at the end of the evening.

What can you win?

The winning applicant can win up to £1000.

The other five pitches can win up to £200 or half of what they applied for.

Our next Soup Dragon’s Den event will be held on 18 May at the Place Community Centre, Royal Avenue, Leyland PR25 1BX from 6 to 8pm. The closing date for applications to be received is 21 April 2020.
